We need your help to better understand underwater ocean noise around the archipelago of Svalbard.
We are researchers from Antioch University New England and from Norway (independent researcher) conducting a study to better understand perceptions of underwater ocean noise around the archipelago of
Svalbard and its potential impacts on marine mammals that depend on sound to forage, communicate, navigate, reproduce, and avoid predators. We are interested in learning more about your experiences
at sea, your awareness of marine mammals in the region and their vocalizations, and underwater ocean noise. We have a brief survey that will take about 10-15 minutes to complete. You may participate
in this study if you are 18 years of age or older and currently work or have worked (in the last five years) in seaborne tourism/the maritime industry serving Svalbard. Your participation is
completely voluntary and all responses are anonymous. If you have any questions about the research prior to taking the survey, please contact the principal investigator, Andrea Lynn at
alynn1@antioch.edu.
If you would like to participate in the survey, please click on the link below and you will be directed to the informed consent page of the survey.
Thank you for your participation.
